Gospel Dessert Week 3

This Sunday's gospel was the cursing of the fig tree.  I think every other time I've done this, I've done a fig based dessert.  Really, that's a no brainer.

Except this time I couldn't find any figs!   The closest the store had was Fig Newtons.  I do like those, but I couldn't see a plate of them passing muster as the once weekly dessert!

So I made a "fruit tree" out of cupcakes (German chocolate, I was thinking of our Holy Father Emeritus).

I frosted them all with chocolate icing, then dipped the "leafy" parts in a mix of green sprinkles.

A definite hit!
